Rochester Hills, Michigan

Independent owner's representation for Michigan school bond programs.

Stoner Advisory Group sits on the district's side of the table, and only the district's side, from the first planning meeting through final reconciliation against your general ledger. Owner's representation is never billed by the hour, and never handed to a junior.

01 What we do

Three phases. One advocate. Enter where you stand.

Each phase is a separate, severable engagement. Hire us for one, two, or all three. Nobody bundles you into anything.

Phase 1 · Before your election

Pre-Ballot Reality Check & Planning

Facility priorities and an independent budget reality-check, delivery-method options, and factual community information support, funded from the general fund. Never contingent on the election outcome.

Phase 2 · After your election

Delivery Method Strategy & RFP Development

How the program gets delivered, and who delivers it: delivery-method strategy plus architect and construction-manager RFPs the board can defend. Available standalone for districts without a construction team.

Phase 3 · Program execution

Owner's Representation

Single point of accountability across architect, construction manager, and contractors. Budget, schedule, and contingency oversight with board-ready monthly reporting; site quality walks through punch list, closeout, and final reconciliation.

02 Why districts choose SAG

Built for the district's side of the table

  • Principal-led, always. You work directly with the firm's principal and partners, available on every call and in every board meeting, with 35 years of combined school district experience. Every site walk is performed personally by our principal, John Stoner.
  • Independent by design. We do not design and we do not build, so our only interest is protecting the district's budget.
  • One kind of client. School bond, millage, and sinking-fund programs are the entire practice, not a service line inside a diversified consultancy. Your program never competes for our attention with an office park.
  • Insider's view of districts. John spent decades inside Michigan school operations before founding the firm, so we plan around school calendars, occupied buildings, and board approval cycles. We've lived them.
